Bead Soup Blog Reveal

So tonight is the night for the third reveal of Lori Anderson's 6th Bead  Soup Blog Party. As much as it pains me to say that I have a procrastination issue. I start projects well in advance and then finish them at the last minute. For reasons unknown to me I work better under pressure. So technically I just finished my pieces about 2 hours ago.

Last time I checked in I showed a glimpse of what my lovely partner Shai Williams from shaihasramblings.blogspot.com   had sent to me. I again will show a  pic of the goodies.

As always I find it difficult to work with things that I don't pick out myself. But that is so the point of this bead soup exchange to work with things one normally wouldn't work with. And the amazing thing is how that even that they are not my typical picks, they somehow work and become my own. I added my style and twist to these beads and they are now me,my style.

Fair warning image HEAVY......

I do love peacocks so of course I had to use the pendant. It wasn't my usual flair so I altered it a bit by attaching it to a filigree and hanging some shiny beads from it. I chose to mix Czech beads, crystals and even a gorgeous vintage rhinestone bead. Then I wire wrapped some of the Czech beads, and of coursee I had to add one of my soldered pendants. (I have a little problem,I feel the need to add them to as many things as possible even my Christmas tree at holiday time).  The soldered pendant is made by using real peacock feathers. Not the main feather but the frilly little hair like feathers from the plume. The necklace is 28" long and it's night time here in Michigan so I couldn't get picture's to do this necklace justice. But here goes.

There was a too gorgeous for words copper toggle that Shai sent that was just begging to be used. I don't usually work with copper I have a total block on color schemes to use with copper but I think I did fairly well. So to try to do this clasp some sort of justice I  added various agate beads to the lovely blue dragon veins agate that she sent me  and vintage copper chain that I had to create this double stranded beauty that I  am so excited to wear.

So that's my reveal. Don't forget to check out my partner's reveal http://shaihasramblings.blogspot.com . I sent her lots of goodies to work with and can't wait to see what she came up with!! I can't wait to hop,but I am gonna have to because I have to be up early for work in the morning (working Saturdays is so not fun).

Oh and by the way a great huge thanks to Lori Anderson for pulling all of this together, she has to be a  super hero to be able to do as much as she does, maybe someday I will have her inside secret to being so motivated and awesome and then maybe I can have a cape like I sure she does, too.  Here's the list of the other participants check em out!

  1. LOVE the peacock necklace, especially the details you added to it. Using feathers and making a connector was brilliant! I really like it. Very, very interesting!

  2. Rosa, for someone who professes to have a "total block on color schemes to use with copper", you certainly rocked that bracelet (and I love copper)! The choice of agates with that amazing focal goes SO well with the clasp. Your necklace is also superb, with the pairing of the pretty pendant (looks like MOP?) with that very unique enclosed feather element. Both pieces are very elegant.

  3. I love your bracelet and all the elements work so beautifully with copper. To me, any colour works with copper and it is rapidly becoming my favourite metal! The focal and clasp in this piece are both fab!
